- I was enamored when I saw a mezzaluna in action for the first time. I eat salads almost every day, and I couldn’t believe I had never seen this brilliant device before. I know it’s technically supposed to be for chopping herbs, but I’ve use it to cut lettuce, kale, celery, radishes, and even chicken.Pros:Very good quality; I’ve been using mine daily for a month and haven’t had any problems.Chops or minces pretty much anything in no time at all. Just rock it back and forth and the job is done!Cons:Awkward to sharpen. If you’re using it consistently, you will notice that it tends to dull faster near the center where it’s worked the most. If anyone knows a good way to keep this thing razor sharp, I’m all ears.
