- I need this tool for both weeds and snow. For snow, I prefer a snow shovel to hoist the snow over the railing. Then this tool is better for cleaning under the railing so the remaining snow drains more quickly. I found it easier to work with one section of the handle taken off, and it was easy to remove. This shovel is also easier for scraping hard ice, compared to the old shovel. So I will use both, and this means two people can work at the same time! For weeds, I think I prefer this shovel over my old flat head shovel; because it is absolutely straight I can get into smaller corners. But again, now I have two tools and can split up the work; very happy about that! It was very easy to put together, the diagrams are easy to follow and they include everything you need except a wrench or pliers. I took this out for a test drive (on sidewalk weeds) and it performed well. As I expected, a tiny bit of black paint came off. The blade is still totally straight. It comes with a guard to keep on the blade when not in use (to protect the blade). If you have the space for an additional tool, this is a great supplement to your war on weeds and snow.
