- I tested this drill bit out on both pressure treated pine 4×4 material as well as some oak and it performed very well in both cases. The design of having the screw tip pulls the bit through the material so much easier that just a typical spade bit. The 1/4″ hex shank provided me options to use the bit with a drill driver and or in a standard chuck. After 20 holds drilled into each the bit still retained its sharpness and would appear to be one that will work for a long time. I like that the bits were packaged individually in separate plastic sleeves, ensuring that before I got them they would not be subject to any impact damage. the plastic sleeves are also reusable so it will offer continued protection of the bit for years to come.
