- i lost my 35 year old bow saw to the saw gods and had all the intent of replacing it with another. Then thought, well you like your Silky Katanaboy so much, why not upgrade to a folding saw? To my surprise, the Corona RS7265D, jumped out, as good or better than the Silky Gomboy at less than half the cost (search Youtube). The major flaw of the 7265D was the partially exposed blade that had me searching for a sheath/scabbard; unfortunately options cost $30-50 (on Amazon) or I was making one myself. The RS16150 is an upgraded 7265D, which covers the blade completely. And yeah, the $12 difference in price is a considerable premium to pay just for a tweaked design – Corona marketing ain’t no dummies… I couldn’t make a sheath for less – Marketing 101 calls that “value pricing”.- I store it in a my garden shed in a gallon zip lock w/ a bag of desiccant to deter rust.- I 3 strand braided polypropylene twine and use with a D-clip to carry on my belt- Measures 12-1/4″ x 2-5/8″ x 1″ closed- Cuts as well or better than I remember from my old bow saw. It carries and stores 100% better.Update (April, 2021)I paid 34 bucks about a year ago. Now at half the cost it’s a no brainer; recommending to all my friends. I’m not sure why some folks are having durability issues. I have another, longer, silky saw; the saws are meant to cut on the pull stroke. Don’t press or push down hard or bind the blade (undercut if necessary). Keep the blade out of the dirt and cutting material clean to keep it sharp. Based on past mfg experience, ‘typical’ defect % ranges from 0.5-1% depending on process and human interaction. Also, btw, I saw a Corona saw sheath at the local store for about $11 which may work.
